Until the middle of next week, the Alps will remain on the front side of low-pressure systems over Western Europe, as well as the western Mediterranean region, in a föhn-like south flow, bringing significantly warmer subtropical air into Central Europe and triggering summer-like conditions. North of the Alps, the weather pattern will mostly remain only slightly changeable, with sunshine dominating over long stretches. However, along the main Alpine ridge, more compact clouds will occasionally build up against the mountains; nevertheless, significant precipitation is hardly to be expected even here. The freezing level will gradually approach the 3000 meters mark day by day and even exceed it over time. Somewhat stronger low-pressure influence does become apparent only for the second half of the week. Clouds will become more frequent and larger, and some precipitation is expected.
